Meet Chokwe

Ladies and Gentlemen,
As a County Commissioner over the last two years, it has been the most rewarding experience of my life. I have learned so much from my colleagues and county leadership about County Government; now, as the candidate in this race with the most experience — I know what it takes to show up for Benton Charter Township, Sodus Township, and Hagar Township on the County Board.

Why i am running

I will fight for those communities, each and every one of them because I know — like you — that we do not represent democratic residents or republican residents… we represent everyone.
As a County Commissioner, I have been appointed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer to the Statewide Community Corrections Advisory Board and by Hon. James Gore to the National Association of Counties Board of Directors. I also secured a $250,000 back tax payment from the Orchards Mall Owners.

I fought to bring community violence intervention grants to our community. I will continue to partner with federal, state, and local partners to ensure that every resident can feel safe from the horrors of gun violence.
Finally, I served on the National Association of Counties Artificial Intelligence exploratory committee. Working with Commissioners, CIOs, and stakeholders from across the United States to produce a report helping local and county governments navigate the changing digital world.

So, I ask you today to support me in my re-election for FOUR MORE YEARS, and let’s move FORWARD TOGETHER!
